In the early 1990s, food exports were barely existent in Korea. At that time, OKF was one of the only few Korean companies to enter overseas markets.
Sang-shin Lee, the head of OKF, introduced citron tea and seaweed to buyers at that time.
Chairman Lee, who has consistently shown the potential of OKF overseas, was asked by Walmart buyer in the U.S. in 2015 to deliver drinks to 8,400 stores. However, he missed golden opportunity due to lack of production capacity. After this incident, Chairman Lee put all his energy into expanding the plant.
As a result, a perfect production lineup from the plant No.1 in 2010 to the completion of the Plant No.10, 15th line and the fifth distribution center of the 10th plant in May.
A total of 180 billion won has been invested in the export production base project for 12 years. OKF Andong Plant was registered as the first FDA-designated plant in Korea.
